fox 5 on- time traffic. >>> the final day of the debate preps for president obama and mitt romney. tonight at 9:00 p.m. eastern time the two will square off for the first time from the university of denver. governor romney got a lot of debating under his belt during the republican primaries of course, but he has rarely engaged in a one-on-one debate. president obama's staff is reportedly to keep the sometimes wordy president's answers brief and to the point. joining us is peter fin. good morning. wonderful to see you. our friend jim is away this week, so we are happy to welcome back jordan lieberman. good to see you again. so let's talk about it. the day is here. peter, i'll start with you. what's the feeling going into this debate? >> i think there's a lot of anxiety, allison. these things are very tense. i'm not sure we're going to see lincoln/douglas here tonight. this is a fairly loose format and it allows both candidates some time to go into longer answers and explain things. but as you point out, especially with president obama, i think they're trying to shorten his answers,
for a while, and she got great at the debates last summer, then mitt romney in the florida debate, where he obliterated newt gingrich. he got so much credit, that the romney camp let him go. we're going to talk to him, not to push romney or attack the president, whatever, but basically give us a lesson on how you debate and to take a look at clips almost like game tape for the redskins, and say here's where a guy did something good, here's where somebody did something bad and explain what he would tell one of his clients about how you debate. >> it's so important, because for everybody watching, they really got a more clear idea about who these gentlemen are, fair or not fair, i don't know. we're going to leave that up to you to decide. but i must say, that's interesting background, because i think mitt romney came out very strong. i think everybody does agree with that in that debate. >> i'll give you one subtle example, allison, when obama was talking, and they've always got to figure they're on a split screen, because they don't know when the networks will take a split screen, always loo
